Real Madrid Win the 12th Champions League Trophy

For the 12th time in their history, Real Madrid with the help of unstoppable Cristiano Ronaldo who  struck twice  beat Juventus 4 goals to 1 to win the  2016/2017 European Cup and become the first team to defend the title in the Champions League era.

Madrid opened the scoring against the run of play with a brilliant break, ending with Dani Carvajal teeing up Ronaldo to drill home from just inside the box in the 20th minute. However Juventus were soon level with an even better goal, a spectacular Mario Mandzukic overhead kick which arced beyond Keylor Navas and into the net at the 27th minute of play.

At the 31st  minute Sergio Ramos was booked for a foul on Dani Alves. Moments previously, Cristiano Ronaldo tried to score with a bicycle kick of his own, which cannoned off a defender.

 Dani Carvajal gets booked for a foul on Mandzukic at the 42nd minute, sliding in from the side and winning the ball. On the touchline, Zinedine Zidane is furious with the decision.

Casemiro (Real Madrid) unleashes a shot from distance at the 61st minute of play, which is deflected past Gianluigi Buffon. He had no chance of stopping it as the ball rapidly changed its direction.

At the 64th minute, Real Madrid had 2 goals cushion when Luka Modric displays great vision and sends a pass to Cristiano Ronaldo, who shows brilliant composure inside the box to bury the ball from close range in the back of the net

Juventus woes was compounded when Juan Cuadrado sees a second yellow card from the referee and already knows what will come next. It’s a red and the match is over for Juan Cuadrado at the 84th minute.

Marco Asensio fires home from about 12 yards at the 90th minute, after getting on the end of a pull-back from Marcelo, who was given the freedom of the byline after getting in behind the Juventus defence.
