The FC Ifeanyiubah and CHAN Eagles defender, Stephen Eze has been banned for 12 Nigeria Professional Football League Games.
The punishment is in response to the manner the Anambra warriors’ players, officials and supporters conducted themselves during their NPFL week 36th fixture against Niger Tornadoes fc in Lokoja.
Other players also banned for 12 games are Ngoma Luamba, Elu Wilson, Isaac Loute, Adeleye Olamilekan, Michael Egbeta,Uchenna Godfrey Jr, Douglas Nkrumah and Kone Soumaila
Referee Nakura Awual from Taraba State was manhandled during the game that was extended till the following morning between Niger Tornadoes and Ifeanyiuba. The away team was leading by alone goal before the match was abandoned due to rain and shifted to the following day.
The Ifeanyiubah players became unruly when the home team equalized and went ahead to win the game the following morning.
Stephen Eze was part of the Super Eagles team that defeated Benin Republic to qualify for CHAN 2018 and has also been listed to participate in the forthcoming wafu cup in Ghana.
Eze was invited to play for the national team. He was named in the final 23 man Nigeria Super Eagles B team who played in the CHAN 2016, led by Coach Sunday Oliseh. Eze played all the group games.
