Confederation Cup Draws: Nigerians pray to avoid North African opponents

The fear of the North African teams is the beginning of wisdom for the Nigerian clubsides as we anticipate the draws later this evening in far away Cairo, Egypt.

It should be recalled that two North Africa teams saw off the 2016/2017 NPFL best two teams. While MFM International fc was humiliated with aggregate score of 7-2 by the MC Algiers, Etoile du Sahel of Tunisia ended the aspiration of Plateau United in the CAF Champions League by 4-3 aggregate.

As the World the final qualifying draw this Wednesday, Nigerians are now praying to either have an easy draw that does not involve the North Africa or have the 4 NPFL teams drawn against each other to be sure of having contenders at the Group stage.

Failure for any Nigeria team to make it to the Group stage may affect the coefficient of our participation in the future competition and this will reduce the numbers of our representative to just one.

Four Nigerian teams are currently in the Confederation Cup Draws, Enyimba International, Akwa United, Plateau United and MFM International.
