2019 Election: Nigerians await other Political Parties’ Candidates

Following the declaration of President Muhammadu Buhari to contest the the 2019 Presidential Election and the likelihood of him getting the ruling party ticket to contest the election.

Nigerians have said they will await the candidate of the other political parties, especially, the leading opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party before making their decision on who to cast their vote for come next February.

In a poll conducted by Awijare News on twitter, the question was, “Will you vote for PMB in 2019 now that he has declared for APC? Options – YES | NEVER | Awaiting other Political Parties Candidate?

Total number of 7,637 respondents responded to the question of which 2,083 representing 27.3% of the respondents answered in the affirmative, 11.3% representing 863 said they will never vote for the president, while whooping 4691 representing 61.4% of the respondents said they will consider other presidential candidates before making their decision.

As it is, there are several Nigerians who have indicated interest in challenging for the presidency come 2019, the former Vice-President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar defected to PDP for the purpose of securing the Party’s presidential ticket. Sule Lamido and Ayodele Fayose, the former Jigawa State Governor and the Ekiti State Governor have also indicated interest.

Motivational Speaker, Fela Durotoye has also indicated interest to contest. Whether any of these men and several others that will join has what it takes to takeover the Presidency come May 29th, 2019 is a matter of time.
