The Super Eagles of Nigeria suffered a 0-1 defeat at the hands of the Czech Republic on Wednesday in Austria in their final friendly match ahead of the World Cup.
Defender Tomas Kalas, fresh from helping Fulham win promotion to the English Premier League, scored the only goal of the game in the first half in Schwechat, just outside Vienna.
This is the 2nd consecutive lost by the Gernot Rohr’s tutored Super Eagles, against England at Wembley last weekend, Super Eagles lost 1-2.
Nigeria had played total number of 6 warm up games and won only one. The Super Eagles defeated Argentina 4-2, drew 1-1 with Poland, lost to Serbia 1-2 and played 1-1 against the DR Congo.
Nigeria will face Argentina, Croatia and Iceland in a testing Group D in Russia, with their World Cup opener against Croatia in Kaliningrad on Saturday, June 16.
