NPFL Week One Round Up
The Nigeria Professional Football League kicked off last week Sunday with six games. By Wednesday evening, the 10 matches scheduled for the week one of the new season has been completed with the feature between Rivers United and Rangers in Port Harcourt.
At the end of week one, total number of nineteen goals in all the matches while the match between Katsina United and Heartland produced the highest number of goal tally with the two teams scoring 5 goals.
Wikki Tourist forward, Damala scored the first goal of the season in Lafia when he scored in the 5th minute of play, against Nasarawa United in a match his team eventually lost by one goal to two.. The same match produced the first brace of the season when Nicodemus equalized at the 7th minute of play and netted home the winner in the seconf half.
The surprising team of week one was Kwara United that defeated the last season winner, Plateau United by two goals to zero in Jos, Plateau State.
