NNL Super 8: First Match; First Victory For Sporting Lagos

The Nigeria National League Suepr 8 kicked off in Asaba today, in the Southern Conference opener between Sporting Lagos vs FC One Rocket, the team’s left nothing to the imagination as both sides went for the jugular from the blast of the referee’s whistle, signalling the start of the battle for one of the two available promotion tickets.

At the end of the first half, there was little or nothing to separate both sides despite the end to end actions before the referee ended the half.

The second half was not as exciting as the first as both teams were seemingly catious until Odafe Emmanuel broke the jinx in the 87th minute, tapping home the decider after a goal mouth scramble.

The goal came too late in the game as FC One Rocket could not salvage a point despite being the stronger of the two teams after the goal was scored.

Sporting Lagos who vowed to bring Premier League football back to Lagos currently stands at the top of the Southern Conference table.
