New Beginnings? Lobi Stars Adopt Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium as Temporary Home

Desperation meets hope as Lobi Stars make yet another move in search of stability and survival. The Pride of Makurdi have officially adopted Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu, as their new temporary home ground. This historic stadium, home to NPFL champions Rangers, now serves as the latest battleground where Lobi Stars will fight to turn their season around.

A Season of Struggles

The journey has been anything but smooth. After finishing 6th last season while playing at the New Jos Stadium, Lobi Stars relocated to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Bauchi, at the start of 2024/2025 campaign. However, the move proved disastrous—no wins in three home matches and a season marked by disappointment. Their last game in Bauchi ended in a 0-2 defeat against Niger Tornadoes, leaving them stranded at the bottom of the NPFL table with just 23 points from 27 matches.

A Fresh Start or Last Hope?

This weekend, Lobi Stars will take to the field at their new home in Enugu, facing Ikorodu City in a matchday 28 showdown. The question looms large: Will this move breathe life into their fading campaign?

With relegation staring them in the face, this change of scenery could provide the reset they desperately need. A strong performance against Ikorodu City might signal a fresh start—a new home away from home, a new chapter, and perhaps, a last chance at redemption.

Can Lobi Stars rise from the ashes and rewrite their story? The fight for survival begins now.
