The 11th AMVCA Nominees: Celebrating Africa’s Finest Creatives in Film and Television

The much-anticipated 11th Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) nominees have been unveiled, and it’s time to celebrate the extraordinary talent that continues to shape the African entertainment industry. From filmmakers to actors and storytellers, the AMVCAs have long served as a beacon for recognizing excellence across the continent, and this year’s list is no exception.

Broadcast live on Africa Magic channels, the announcement brought attention to the remarkable achievements of African creatives who have not only entertained but also inspired audiences worldwide. The 2025 awards ceremony will take place on May 10 at the luxurious Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos, where the very best in film and television will be honoured.

Public voting opens until May 4 on the Africa Magic website, so fans have the chance to cast their votes for the nine audience-voted categories. A distinguished panel of judges, led by veteran filmmaker Femi Odugbemi, will determine the winners of the remaining 18 juried categories, including prestigious awards such as the Lifetime Achievement Award and the Trailblazer Award—both of which honour the pioneers who’ve paved the way for others.
