The second stanza of the NWFL Premiership has officially begun, and it’s already delivering a thrilling display of talent, determination, and fierce competition. Fans across the league were treated to an unforgettable round of matches, each more intense than the last. Here’s a breakdown of the full-time results from today’s action-packed matchday:

Early this morning in Ilorin, Edo Queens came out on top against Ekiti Queens, securing a hard-fought 1-0 victory, thanks to a brilliant goal from Rebecca Adegbemile in the 68th minute. This win catapulted Edo Queens to the top of the Group A table with 20 points, sending a clear message to their rivals that they’re here to defend the title they won last year.

In Lafia, it was all about Naija Ratels, who delivered an emphatic 4-0 victory over Benue Queens. The star of the show was Anuoluwapo Awotidoye, who netted a hat-trick with goals in the 28th, 50th, and 78th minutes. Obadun Azeezat added another in the 58th minute, further solidifying Naija Ratels’ ambitions for a spot in the Super 6. Meanwhile, Benue Queens are still in search of their first victory of the season.

Bayelsa Queens continued their dominance in Yenagoa, defeating Robo Queens 3-0. Olabiyi Alaba opened the scoring in the 21st minute, and Shakirat Moshood sealed the win with two quick goals just before halftime (45′) and shortly after (47′)—a clinical performance by the Bayelsa squad.

In Anyigba, Confluence Queens earned their first victory of the season with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Heartland Queens. Peace Ikediuba was the hero, converting a penalty in the 73rd minute to give the Queens from the Confluence a well-deserved three points.

Umuahia saw Abia Angels come away with a 2-0 victory against Dannaz Ladies, thanks to an own goal from Toyibat Abdulazeez in the 30th minute and a goal from Chiamaka Ojialor in the 38th minute. #ABIDAN couldn’t recover, leaving them with no points on the day.

Ibom Angels secured a dramatic 1-0 win over Delta Queens in Uyo, with Uwah Abasiofon scoring in added time (90′) to break the hearts of the Delta Queens, who were left frustrated by the last-minute defeat.

In another captivating match from Lafia, Rivers Angels battled back from a 1-0 deficit to defeat Adamawa Queens 2-1. Nnenna Ossai gave Adamawa a lead in the 18th minute, but Taiwo Afolabi equalized in the 52nd minute. The game turned in favour of the Rivers Angels when an own goal by Temilade Oluwaseun in the 90th minute sealed the victory for Rivers Angels.

Lastly, Nasarawa Amazons emerged victorious with a dramatic stoppage-time penalty to defeat Remo Stars Ladies 1-0. Jenat Akekeromowei stepped up in the dying moments of the match, converting the penalty in the 90th minute, handing Remo Stars their first defeat of the season and allowing the defending champions, Edo Queens, to take the Group A lead.
