Nigerian sprinter Usheoritse Itsekiri clocks a new season best of 10.19 seconds before powering to victory in the 100 meters final at the Royal City Inferno in Canada

Nigeria’s Usheoritse Itsekiri delivered a standout performance at the Royal City Inferno Track and Field Meet in Ontario, Canada, underlining his rising form this season.

The talented sprinter began his day with an impressive 10.19 seconds in the men’s 100 meters heats, registering a new Season’s Best with a legal tailwind of 0.9 m/s. This mark not only solidified his return to top form but also set the tone for what was to come.

Later in the evening, Usheoritse Itsekiri returned to the track for the 100 meters final and showed impressive consistency, storming to victory in 10.25 seconds against a headwind of -0.4 m/s.

He edged out American sprinter Marcellus Moore, who clocked 10.28 seconds, and Eliezer Adjibi, who finished close behind in 10.32 seconds.

This performance marks a significant step forward for Itsekiri, a former Nigerian national champion and World Championship athlete, who has steadily been rebuilding his form in the 2024 and 2025 seasons.
