From Whistle to Boardroom

Udoh’s transition from officiating to football management marks a significant shift for Dakkada FC. Having enjoyed a successful career as an international referee, he now brings a wealth of experience, discipline, and leadership to the club’s administrative structure.

Club officials say the decision to appoint Udoh reflects a commitment to infusing professionalism and long-term strategy into Dakkada’s operations as they prepare for a potentially defining season.

In his new role, Udoh will oversee the club’s daily management, build stronger stakeholder relationships, and spearhead efforts to reposition Dakkada FC for success on and off the pitch. He is also tasked with forming a new board and appointing a technical crew ahead of the new NNL campaign, which kicks off on November 8, 2025.

A Vision Beyond Promotion

Speaking with Awijare Sports on Saturday morning, Udoh expressed gratitude for the opportunity and outlined his long-term vision for the club.

“For us, Dakkada is not just about me. It’s about the people, the government, the players, and everyone working together. We are not desperate about getting into the Nigeria Premier Football League. If promotion comes, we will embrace it, but our goal is to build a sustainable brand — one that can thrive with or without government influence,” he said.

Udoh emphasized his plan to attract sponsors, develop young talent, and empower Akwa Ibom’s vast pool of footballing potential.

“We want to build a young, talented team that can represent Nigeria across different national levels. We’re not interested in recycling players. Dakkada should be a family — a system where we love, support, and grow together,” he added.

Guided by Mentorship and Experience

Udoh credited several top Nigerian football administrators and mentors who have guided him over the years, including Chief Felix Anyansi-Agwu, Mike Idoko, and Elder Paul Bassey, the Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Sports.

“Chief Anyansi has been a mentor and motivator. Mike Idoko, Jude, Divine Ogbonaya, and my brother Barrister Amobi have all played key roles in shaping my outlook. I’ve learned from them, and I’m open to more learning and constructive criticism as we move Dakkada to the next level,” Udoh noted.

The new General Manager shared a message of faith and optimism on his official Facebook page, writing: “It’s a NEW ERA. Thank you Jesus.”
