Matchday Two of the 2025–2026 Nigeria Women Football League Premiership (NWFL) delivered a full range of emotions across Lagos, Port Harcourt, Lafia, Asaba, Uyo, Remo, Benin City and Oshogbo. From ruthless attacking football to stubborn defensive displays and late match-winning moments, the league once again reminded fans why it remains one of the most competitive women’s leagues on the continent.

At the centre of this week’s drama was FC Robo Queens, whose fearless start to the season has quickly sent a warning to every club in the division.

Edo Queens claimed their first win of the season with a narrow victory over Heartland Queens in Benin City. Atume Donsuur scored the only goal of the match in the 15th minute, reacting quickest in the box to give the hosts their breakthrough.

Edo dominated the early exchanges and earned multiple corners but were unable to increase their lead. Despite Heartland growing into the contest after the break, Edo’s defence held firm.

Atume’s early goal was enough to hand them all three points.

In Ile Ogbo, Osun Babes left it late before snatching a win over visiting Ahudiyannem Queens. The breakthrough came in the 87th minute when Nofisat Tijani converted from the penalty spot. Ekiti Queens Rescue Late Point in Frustrating 1–1 Draw Against Adamawa Queens

Ekiti Queens were forced to settle for a 1–1 draw against visiting Adamawa Queens at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium in Ado Ekiti, a result that left home supporters frustrated after a match filled with missed opportunities and late drama.

The hosts dominated the first half, controlling possession and creating several clear chances, but Adamawa’s goalkeeper stood firm, denying more than ten shots on target. Despite Ekiti’s early pressure, the match remained goalless at the break.

Adamawa Queens grew into the contest after halftime and punished a defensive lapse when Mary Sunday calmly lifted the ball over the advancing Ekiti Queens goalkeeper to give the visitors a 55th-minute lead. The goal increased tension across the stands as the home side chased a response.

Ekiti Queens continued to push forward and were finally rewarded deep into stoppage time. A defensive misunderstanding in the Adamawa backline resulted in an own goal by Favour Godwin in the 90+2 minute, allowing Ekiti to escape with a point.
