Kaybobo Backs Ekiti Youths With Bold Sports Commitment As Ex-BBN Star Donates Custom Caps To SWAN
Former Big Brother Naija housemate returns home to inspire young athletes and pledges long term partnership with sports media in Ekiti

Kayode Oladele, the energetic former Big Brother Naija Season 10 housemate popularly known as Kaybobo, has returned to Ado Ekiti with a mission that goes far beyond television fame. The reality star, who grew up in the bustling streets of Ado Ekiti before earning international exposure through sports, says he is ready to invest fully in young people through his Kaybobo Youth Foundation.
Kaybobo made this commitment during an engaging interactive session with members of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria SWAN Ekiti State chapter. His message was clear and heartfelt. He wants to use sports, creativity and youth-based initiatives to open doors for the next generation, the same way basketball opened doors for him.

Speaking with confidence and nostalgia, he recalled his early years at Christ School and All Souls High School in Ado Ekiti. He described basketball as the turning point of his life, a platform that carried him from Ekiti to Lagos and eventually to the United States, where he earned university degrees, built an athletic career and embraced new creative ventures.
He credits his secondary school coach, Tayo Awojurin, as the mentor who changed everything. According to him, Coach Awojurin did not only refine his skills but also went the extra mile to convince his mother to allow him to pursue sports fully. That single push, he said, laid the foundation for everything he has achieved.

Kaybobo said the reason he is creating a foundation for Ekiti youths, particularly those interested in sports, is simple. He wants to give young athletes the encouragement, development, guidance and opportunities he received as a teenager.
He said sports can change the lives of young people if they get the right support from family, mentors and their community. He urged parents to allow their children to explore sports and other creative passions without fear or unnecessary restrictions.

Today, Kaybobo is not only a former basketball player but also an American football athlete in the United States. He is building a multilayered career that cuts across fashion, entertainment, tourism, art and culture, all from the proud perspective of an Ekiti ambassador.
In appreciation of the warm reception by SWAN Ekiti, Kaybobo donated customised caps to the association. He praised the state’s sports journalists for their role in shaping his early journey, adding that he will continue to partner with them to promote sports development in Ekiti.
The Chairman of SWAN Ekiti, Qozeem Oladapo, thanked him for the gifts and described his humility as inspiring. He assured that the association will continue to promote Kaybobo’s image, foundation and vision.
Other members of the association who interacted with him urged him to remain consistent and not forget the sports media community that contributed to his rise, unlike many public figures who drift away after gaining fame.

The event ended with friendly basketball matches involving local secondary school pupils and adult teams, giving Kaybobo a nostalgic reminder of where his story began and showcasing the fresh talents that could be the next big names in Ekiti sports.
Kaybobo’s return to Ado Ekiti was more than a courtesy visit. It was a heartfelt homecoming marked by gratitude, purpose and a renewed passion for youth development. Through his foundation, he hopes to set new standards for sports empowerment in Ekiti, and the young aspiring athletes of the state may soon have a powerful new ally in their corner.
